IND Painted Front Reflectors...

Hey all -- i'm picking up my i7 xDrive60 in a few hours. I noticed that the front reflectors actually have a light in them. Has anyone swapped out these reflectors for painted ones from IND? I do this on all my cars, but now thinking i CAN'T on the i7

Any thoughts?

Those reflectors are an eye sore on these cars. I’m getting a tint this week and having them just tint the reflectors, I’ve heard of a few people doing that.

I did IND color match markers on my M6 and they looked great and kind of disappeared. They are available for i7 so unless your car is black, I’d do the IND instead of black tint myself.

Forgive me for being dense — if I buy the normal painted reflectors from IND, and remove the current reflectors with the light module in there, will I have to rip out some light wiring and stuff? Or do I just leave the light in there underneath the painted reflector?

My Tint Guy is coming on Saturday, so maybe I’ll have them tinted in the meantime.

funny, you in the US have those ugly reflectors, we don't - but you can tint your front windows - we can't

Yes, you can just leave the painted IND reflectors disconnected from the wiring and no DTC message will appear in iDrive. I ordered the full set and painted rear spoiler for my //M-Sport G70. IND did a perfect paint match to my Mineral White. I used heat shrink over the reflector connectors to ensure nothing gets inside.

As for tint, I did 45% on the windshield and 20% all around on my car. Used the non-ceramic Xpel. Great clarity and heat rejection .... not too dark at night

As for street legal ... none of this (except rear windows) is legal in NJ ... oh well
