remote battery low message.

2014 bmw x5 35D

Yesterday I got the message about remote battery low, replace or something. So last night I changed the battery with a fresh battery and I still got the same message. (I’ve changed these in the past with no problem. ) I checked the second key and get the same warning message. So I changed the primary’s key battery again with a fresh battery and got the same error.

I tried starting the car with the key up to the column to try to re-initialize it. That didn’t work.

I tried to lock unlock 5 times and multiple starts, still nothing.

No codes show when I scan the car…

Anyone have this problem and a solution?

I guess I’ll answer my own question.

I did nothing and waited, and the warning went away on its own.

So in some cases it might takes a several hours and restarts to make the message go away.

No need to replace the car battery or mess with anything else.

Yea, every other year or so just swapping with Duracell and that's it.
