Passed by a Hyundai at 150+ mph!!
Crusing on the highway I pass a Hyundai Volestar and I see he wants to dance. I was going about 80 and very quickly he accelerates well ahead of me. I gun it and am reasonably ahead but once I let go just a little he pulls closer to me, at this point we’re going about 120-130.
Trying not to let this guy pass me, we hit speeds in the 150s. I keep thinking this is a Hyundai and Hyundais have no balls. I was definitely wrong! Eventually I see 159 on my speedo and I back off, knowing my top speed is 162 and I’ve never been that fast before. He zips passed me while I am in disbelief, definitely going north of 160mph. I have a 24 760 with the sport aerodynamic wheels. At that speed there was 0 vibration and handling felt solid. I’m not sure how his car felt at that speed, but i bet he was happy leaving a 140k 7-series in the dust!! I had to look up this Volester. It’s a sports car with a top speed of 155+ but can go faster. It also may have been tuned. Somehow managed to snap a photo of my cluster after he passed. You can see the Hyundai in my assisted view. Good times! |
