Skylounge is now an option
When i ordered my 24 740 , the build guide never showed skylounge as an option. ($950 option now)
Since it always been a standart option i never thought car wouldnt come without it. Received the vehicle on 10/20/23 friday and noticed the pano roof had no lines , it was plain blank. My SA did not know about this issue either and found out that it now is an option. He offered to build another car but i was tired of waiting (2nd order since february 23) so i took delivery hoping i might have a way for bmw corporate somehow to correct this ordering “bug” . But now that i look into how involved replacing it with a skylounge one, i dont think bmw corporate will come through on this. I’d like to hear opinions in how i can approach this with bmw corporate Thanks in advance |

Which build guide are you/were you using? If its the one on line, it has never matched what is in the written ordering guides. Did the written ordering guide show skylounge as standard? Usually they list every possible option and indicate if it is included or the price of adding it (with many rules; sometimes some options require ordering a package). If it didn't day skylounge was included then BMW will say they delivered exactly what you ordered. Your sales guy should have done his homework on this assuming that you said you wanted skylounge, and it sounds like he dropped the ball.

No you’re not, you should just return it and get the vehicle you want since you have to pay for it. BMW will take responsibility being that the salesman did a poor job of know exactly what you want and expected. The sky lounge is too awesome!

Good sales advisors are few and far between. Unfortunately, the best you can hope for is they simply submit your order as requested.
I had one ONCE. I told her what I wanted, she submitted my orders as specified, I got my cars for MSRP, she got her pieces of the action. It was that simple. Only took one or two visits for any of my deals... Then she retired. Got passed off to some d*ckhead so I walked away from that dealership. Now I'm back in the game again with a different dealership/advisor. Found issues with my i7 M70 order he submitted (ZMQ was temporarily unavailable and he "missed" it). I had to run all this down and get it corrected via MY resources at BMWNA (thanks Maria!) as he (and his manager) sit back and scratch their heads. (Sigh) No offense, but: If you are going to order a car, do your homework. Download and read the ordering guides. (Thats why you see folks asking for them here). Figure out what is available, understand the relationships between options, decide what YOU want and tell your advisor exactly what needs to be ordered. Then check/confirm the order immediately after submission and once again when it hits 150 in case something has changed/constrained. Of course, a GOOD advisor will do all this for you. Unfortunately, most of them seem pretty clueless or simply happy to move on once they get your initial signature... $0.02

Given that, I doubt they ran out to DMV and titled the car and if you only put a few miles on the car, it’s probably OK. I guess the dealer is just not willing to take it back. I have, in the past, been given a new car to take home for a day to see if I wanted it. That wasn’t uncommon years ago, today probably not really done. |
