Premium EQ Settings
Has anyone messed with the EQ on the premium hifi system enough to find their 'perfect' settings regarding the 'bass' and 'treble' as well as the 6-pt frequency EQ?
I love the sound of this system, but haven't had time to really mess with the EQ, right now I have bass=0, treble=3, which sounds good for most radio and CD's. One of these days I'm gonna tweek it just right, but I was hoping to use someone else's settings as a baseline. Thanks! |

In follow up to a few of these other messages, I have found you need to add some bass with the bass setting (+2), then use the Eq to fine tune it to what I want.
I think the most common complaint with the Premium system is how hot it is in the vocal treble range, particularly around 2000Hz in my opinion. So I've ended up with a bit of a flattened S-Curve on the Eq, the first two sliders up a bit (Bass), then the next 3 sliders coming down a bit from there (Mids), and the last two sliders quite flat (Treble). But the nice part about Eq's is that you can set them to your own preference, and everyone's taste and hearing is different. Finally, I really enjoy the soundscape that the L7 Cinema option provides, when I switch it to music or off, the car feels smaller to me.

One suggestion from me is to use the fader and go 2 clicks towards the rear. That helps to get those A-Pillar tweeters out of your face a bit.
Still screwin' around with the EQ settings. Haven't had a chance to play dark side of the moon in there yet. That's my test album.

too much bass?
I assume our stereo systems are identical, but my problem is there is a lack of treble. The bass is great, maybe too strong, but the overall tone sounds flat in the vocals and high range. I haven't had a chance to play with it, since I'm usually only in the car to drive...it's hard to muss with the EQ and all that while enjoying the ride.
I'm gonna try a standard 'treble booster' setting, identical to the EQ on the iPod. From there, it won't be hard to make minor adjustments. Cheers! |

All those of you who are just posting "Bass x, treble y", the question really is what are your EQ settings, not your tone settings....

There's another thread further down the list on this:
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17004 And I agree with you, we want more than those, but it is very important to note that the Bass Treble settings are very improtant to get right first, then tune your EQ from there.

I've read lots on what won't work trying to upgrade the stock usa spc system, (using BMW parts), but then why does BMW offer a retro fit ? Very confusing to me.. seems to be some sort of disconnect (no pun intended)
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...94&hg=65&fg=95 (is this not the logic7) maybe its just my lack of knowledge.. :iono: (heck I don't have my car yet, what am I talking about - right :wink
