Alpine PDX-5 amp a single solution for non-audiophile?

Was wondering if installing an Alpine PDX-5 would be a good step in terms of upgrading the quality of the sound overall when i get tired of the stock system. So I'm deciding in the far future from now, either upgrade to this amp or just install a 10" sub. Any suggestions? Thanks!

edit: forgot to ask if when i finish installing it, will any errors pop up? What sort of obstacles am i looking at when installing it as well?

This is what I will use in my system. The amp is purchased and now I just need an install appt. Lots of people on e90post have used this amp with good results.

Will the '09 model of the 135i have the same components as the '08 model? Also would it be better to just replace the OEM amp altogether or add the Alpine to work on top of the OEM amp? Thanks.

More than likely it will be the exact same system.

Depends on what you want to do and how many speakers you want to run. I would remove the factory amp altogether and run the PDX 5 sub out in mono to the underseat subs - unless you are going to put an additional sub in the back and then you can consider leaving the factory to power the rears.

my 09 135 will be here in December, and the only thing I may regret is not ordering the "hi fi system". I currently own a 335 and the system sounds nice, but I'm afraid I may regret not ordering the higher end sound sytem in the 135. What is the exact difference? It it just the quality of speakers? number of speakers? Any difference in actual system wattage?

Thanks in advance for your help!
