comfort access/cell phone problems
I hope this hasn't already been discussed, but i noticed today that whenever my key and cell phone are in the same pocket, comfort access fails to work.
the car wont open by touch, but once the key or cell phone is moved away from the other, the car opens. same goes for starting her up. however i noticed through experiments that from outside the car it will open rarely (2/10 times) but while in the car it will usually say no key once or twice, then start right up. has anyone else had this issue? Car has no tints OG Iphone with metal backing (No 3G) |

I don't think my iPhone ever shared the pocket with my keys during my short time with the car and I have the 3G version. So I can't comment. However, I did notice an occasional issue with opening the car... maybe 1 out of 10 times, but I didn't think much of it.
I'll have to do some testing once I get it back. |

It wouldn't surprise me if either the rf or the phone housing itself are causing interference, but now that you have ID'ed the problem there seems to be a pretty easy way to avoid it.

I agree with this. I keep my phone and key in separate pockets now and I no longer have any issues (touch wood) with locking and unlocking.

That is strange. I routinely have my cell phone and keys in the same pocket without issue. Then again, I don't have an iPhone.

I'll have to try it, I've got the iPhone 3G and comfort access. I'll let everyone know.
