FINALLY!!
I finally had my alarm installed, the updated software works great!! And I'm thrilled that the alarm doesn't sound like one of the stupid toy 'ray' guns that cycle through 5 or 6 different sound effects, its a very 'european' sounding car alarm. Another plus, when you lock/unlock the car, the 'beep' is not extremely loud, as to attract attention. But its loud enough to tell me the car is locked as i walk away.
Phew! 4 months after the alarm should have been installed, several emails and phone calls later, and I'm finally a happy camper. On the down side, after I picked her up, the next afternoon I noticed about a dozen scratches on both the passenger door and passenger-side front fender! Don't know how they got there, don't care, just really pissed off. They looked on the 'pre-service vehicle inspection' sheet they did and showed that the car was perfect when I dropped it off, and I know my car didn't have a scratch on it prior to dropping it off, so the scratches must have been done while they were working on it. They are looking at it tomorrow and can hopefully buff them all out, else I'm gonna push for a re-paint. I know I'm anal about my car, but unfortunately, it seems you can't even trust the dealer you bought it from to treat it well. |

$420 (after tax) including alarm and install/program (which took more than two days, ha).

I had the alarm
included in the price of the car when ordered back in June. It was right at $400 for the total install. Not cheap, but well worth it considering the peace of mind, as well as cheaper insurance.
Cheers! BTW, my dealer was able to remove all scratches caused during the install, though I had to point them out 2 or 3 times, as they claim they didn't see them. How do you not notice a 3"long scratch on a brand new car??? But all is well. |

My dealers website showed an alarm price of $337 installed. They tried to say that was the wrong price but I held them to it, since it was on their website.
I am satisfied with the alarm also. |
