Would you buy M3 again or get something different ?
If you would have an opportunity to buy an M3 again would you do it ?
Or would you consider getting one of these cars: 997 GT3 or GT3 RS 997 TT Caynee GTS Bentley GT (my gf likes it ) What I like about M3 is that it is a perfect DD and can shine on the track as well ! |

I haven't really had the opportunity to learn what its like to live with my M3 since it's on order and hasn't made it to me yet, but I'm glad you mentioned the GT3. I really, truly want that to be my next car....But we'll see how everything goes...

I've heard and read that the higher price you pay to get the RS version isn't really worth it. Porsche reduced weight and made the RS more of a track car, but it's not a significant improvement on top of the already perfect regular GT3. Even if I had the extra money to get the RS, I would still get the regular GT3. I thinks it looks much better compared to the funky color combo on the RS.

Exactly Now if I had another car, I'd consider something else. As a DD, its hard to beat the versitility of the M

I'm ordering my 3rd M3 tomorrow. I owned a Mercedes AMG and hated it in comparison. I've driven many porsches but not the ones you've listed, I didn't really have as much fun driving them. They're different, not as practical either. Also the GT3 RS is only cool to porsche geeks and kids I think. Not sure it would be very exciting to a girl that doesn't know much about cars..
"Why is there scaffolding in the back?" "Oh, it's in case I flip the car over." "Why do you have a fire extinguisher?" "For when the car catches on fire." Yeah I donno if she'll get in.

I'd consider the 997.2 GT3 (Since it has the noselift kit & active engine mount) - could be considered a toolbag if it's DD. It would be my3rd car (after DD & SUV) 997TT - Stupid fast, great DD, imo Cayenne GTS? Not my cup of tea. Rather get a X6 xDrive 50i (or X5 after facelift), drivetrain is much better imo, driven both. Bentley GT - 5180lbs kerb weight. I rest my case. Also the 997TT is the only one that I'd consider paying considerably more than for the M3 as a DD

Aren't most of the cars listed in a completely different price category?

I'd get the M again, just I'd buy the e90 instead of my e92. Don't get me wrong, I love the look of the coupe but the look of the 08' e90 (pre LCI) has grown a lot on me and the practicality can't be beat.

Since I have kept my daily driver (can't get to terms with bringing my M to the supermarket parking lot!!), I am wondering if I should not have gotten something more "recreational" (i.e., used GT3) or even more classy (e.g., classic old car)... ah, what a difficult life we have when we have these kind of issues....

I would get the M3 again but the GT3 is the perfect car. If only it could fit people and things, its not all that practical. But I could live with it just fine.
GT3 RS is attainable in White/Black trim if you don't like the Orange/Green choices |

My teenage twins will be getting their licenses when my E93 comes off lease, and there's no way a 16-year-old should have access to an M. So I will probably do something boring and practical for a DD (3 series wagon? new X3? maybe a diesel?). And maybe something totally irrational just to tool around with on weekends (Caterham 7?)

Some time ago I saw a guy driving his orange GT3 RS downtown Munich. I mean, how much more can you defy the purpose of such a car? Best regards, south
