Broken Seat Belt "Arm" ?
So I was getting some gas and my driver's side arm that give you the seat belt stood in the position where you can reach it..I thought it was no biggie
Then I turned on my car and it was there after 2 minutes of driving?? I turned my car off/on but the arm seems to be stuck in the outward position..? Any luck with fixing this? Or should I just take it to the dealer? I don't want to try and push it because I'm afraid I'll break it lol

The same thing happened to me about 3 weeks ago. I left it parked over night, and when I started it back up in the morning the arm retracted like normal. Hasn't happened since then, and hopefully it will fix itself for you too.

Yup, just dropped my girlfriend off and it automatically fixed itself?? That was weird and I'm unsure why it 'froze' in that position!

Does anyody know how it works? Is it a motor-driven pinion wheel against 'teeth' behind the arm? Might be a good idea to throw some silicone spray or something in there to lubricatea things, no? Those are the 'features' that sooner or later crap out on you, and this one seems pretty flimsy and jerky.

Hahaha the problem fixed itself, but it's something BMW needs to address in future cars.

Did you have anything in the passenger seat of the car at the time?
My backpack, or even a case of beer makes my car think that someone is in the passenger seat.... |

I remember when I saw pictures of that "arm" when the e92 body first came out. I thought to myself... "Oh... now THAT'S gonna break..."
Backordered eh? |
