I do not have the hifi system, but on the regular system are there any subwoofers? if so where? also are the speakers behind the backseat headrests speakers or subs?

So if you already get the subwoofers under the seat & rear headrests, etc what does the Hi-Fi sound upgrade give you for an additional $875? My car that just arrived has the standard system (but thinking of upgrading to BSW) when their Stage 1/2 is avaible.

The upgrade gives you better electronics, logic7, and more powerful amp. IMHO there is nothing wrong with the standard system that I received. I believe there are three levels - basic, standard and premium. In Canada we received the mid range (standard) with the professional head unit and 10 speaker system. The basic system is supplied in some markets which only has 6 speakers.

I have the 'basic' system and in my opinion it is fine. Didn't see the point in spending thousands to upgrade when I probably wouldn't notice the difference.

Yes, Harmon Kordon speakers, double the Amp output, Logic7, EQ, iPod Standard (I think in '09's it's now always standard) and the premium system uses the Optical MOST BUS down the car. For me it was a no-brainer, I test drove with both, and the Premium was much more my sound style.

i work at a dealership and you could definitely notice the difference.. i have the hifi in my car and when i bump jamz on customers cars the bass is allot weaker and doesn't give the music the extra "umph" to make it realy enjoyable.. stock bmw speakers are better then most average cars but the quality on the hifi is definitely noticed.. kicker just made some new single subs that supposedly sound great starting at 8 inchs for a good price, and dont take up much room

If they are not revealed in the trunk area, is there a box that the speakers go into? You're sure they are oval 5X7"? Have you removed and/or replaced yours? |
