Paging IND folks please
Ok, looks like I will finally get into a 4 door E90 ///M3 this Summer. My current 2006 BMW X5 4.8is has 4 months left on the lease, but there is a special program where they can cut 3 payments out if I get a new BMW
I am open to finding a demo 2008 E90 if possible, or what ever best deal I can find ? Not sure exact color I want, but SSII seems cool. I have owned 4 black cars the last 12 years, and I done with black. I will want some mods done right away from the folks at IND. I am looking at having something similar to CatchM3's car; http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=258540 I live in the Chicago western burbs so IND shop is pretty close to me. For sure I want; - Vorsteiner Boot Lid Single-Sided - Ericsson FRP Front Bumper - Carbon Fiber Grilles - Wheels but can't afford big bucks on those right now, I am open to suggestions to the coolest set that is valued priced - Exhaust Eisenmann Race Performance I can't do all the mods at once, but a one or two at a time. Open to ideas on what is best to start with, and go from there. Thanks, Dave Last edited by DarthDingo; 06-18-2009 at 09:29 AM.. |

Honestly, $2.8k for an Eisenmann axle back exhaust is a rip (and for a while didn't even come with connecting pipes and they are charging $500+ for that!). There better and cheaper alternatives that sound just as good.

Eisenmann Exhaust should be your first mod...
The sound was one of the main reasons i even ordered the M3.

So how is the 4 door ///M3 for a daily driver ? I will use this year round, even in Chicago winters, does anyone else use their M in winter, who also live north ?
Thats a good excuse to get a nice set of new wheels/tires, use those for the non winter months and look bad ass, but go back to the stock BMW tires, just put winter tires on the stock rims or something ? As for the exhaust, $2800 does seem a little steep, but that is very high quality. I used to have a 2006 Corvette, and almost all exhausts were only $1000-$1500. But before that I had a used 2001 E39 ///M5 with Dinan S1 upgrades, those were not cheap, but made that car perfect to me |

I will be driving my M3 during winter with a set of snow tires.
I figure if my modded 335i with the gobs of low end torque with no LSD can do it, then the M3 should be able to as well.

Definitely take a look at the Race Precision system as well. The axle-back is $1700 and the full GT exhaust is $2600 (includes mid pipes).
You can't go wrong with Eisenmann though. What's your budget on wheels? 19s or 20s? |

I would cut out the Ericsson bumper and bootlid for later and get some nice wheels instead.
I use my car as a daily and just drive SUV's in the winter, but the M can more than handle it. This city is really good about getting all the snow off the roads asap. Local Chicago here I get all my stuff done at IND as well, can't go wrong with them |

In my opinion, paying $2800 for an exhaust that is not much better looking from the rear (vs stock) is... insane. Yes, it does sound good but so do others at a fraction of the cost. My advice is to look (listen?) around and take your time. I've had my E90 for a year and I just got around to getting one. |

I forgot to mention, if you go anywhere near downtown your front will rub with the Ericsson bumper
I rub the stock nose on the entrance to my building |

EISENMANN EXHAUST - worth every penny!
As for winter driving, I drive my E93 all year round. I have my 20" 360 Forged rims for the summer, and in the winter, I use my 18" Stock rims with a set of Hankook winter tires and the car is amazing in the snow, and yes...it is actually AMAZING!

For tires I would like 19", not into 20" I think they hurt handling a bit in my opinion. I would like the rears to be pretty wide if possible ? At least 295's, actually would love 315's if doable ?
I agree do the tires and lowering first + tint windows, 2nd do the exhaust, and then 3rd maybe the boot lid, and finally think about the front bumper, that being the most expensive. |

I use the Pirelli Soto Zero snow tires, staggered configuration for winter here in Denver. You'll need something similar in Chicago. The Pirellis are all out snow tires, but also perform well in cold, dry conditions. They're quiet and smooth, with very good grip which isn't that big a step down for high performance summer tires.
