Question RDSport springs, HRE, rubbing?

Opinions/experience needed. Will I rub with the following setup:

RDSport springs
19" HRE P40: 255/35/19 9.0 ET24 (front), 295/30/19 10.5 ET24 (rear)
Tires: Yoko AD08
No spacers

Thanks.

Sorry, forgot to include that. Updated the 1st post. 9.0 front, 10.5 rear

I have almost the exact same set-up my offsets are a little different +22 front, +25 rear

My rubber is also different, PS2s

I rub occasionally in the rear when there is a passenger back there.

A .6 drop might be hell for me, unless my alignment is dead straight.

Ran into the same problem recently. Had 255/295 in the same profile with PZero Heros, and the rears were rubbing. Same P40 rims, HR springs. I had to change to 285 in the rear. As much as I really really loved the aggressive look of the 295's, the PZeros were way too square of a profile. I can post pics later if you like.

The thing that sucked is that you really had to be concentrating on the surface of the road in terms of bumps, changes in road levels (coming on and off of bridge decks), etc. Now, I don't have to worry about it. I inquired about rolling the rear fenders with the 295 but was advised that there is not enough metal to roll there. I can't comment on that.

Just installed RD Sport Springs on my E92M3 with the following:

20x9
20x10.5
HRE P40
ET28

Nitto Invo
255x30
285x30

No rubbing and room for a 10mm spacer in the front and 5mm in the rear. Japanese tires are bit rounder on the sidewall, Toyo and Nitto especially but Yokos, as mentioned, are more square.

I think the M3 comes with pre-rolled fenders. I rub with my 255/35/19 INVO's(9" +22) in the front only when making a full lock left. I'll be going 285/35/19 soon and I hope it doesn't rub in the rear (10" +20)

I know the RDSport springs are lower, but hold the car up at the dropped height, much stiffer spring, my friends H&R's easily lower with weight, mines holds up.

How do you like the ride with the RD sport springs? Debating which springs to get. I know there are many threads on my question but I don't see too many people giving opinions about the RD sport springs. If you have had the opportunity to compare to H&R or Eibach that would be great info. I know that the ride height in the rear is the same for all three (while the front height differs).

I have the RD springs and like the ride better than the E92 M3 I drove with the Eibachs, plus the drop was a bit more aggressive (front) than either of two options.

I am running 255/30/20- 9.5" & 295/30/20 - 11" FS1 and I rub on the rear on big dips only. Not sure of my exact offset, but I am truly flush and will probably going to shave a couple of mm from the inside of the mounting plate.

I rode in E92 M3's with both H&R and Eibachs and then the RD's. For me, the RD's were the easy choice because aesthetically they looked better with the larger drop AND they are a slight bit stiffer too. The roads where I live are very good so I would rather have the tighter less forgiving spring setup than the softer feel. Plus they work great with the EDC IMHO...

The difference is really slight but the the drop is what sold me. The front is 1.2" and the rear is .9" in drop so the rear is actually lower than H&R and Eibach which drop the car about 1" in the front and only .6" in the rear.

Thanks for the response. When you say better than the Eibachs does that mean siffer? Was that your preference? Or does that mean that the springs seemed to be better matched to the shocks?

YW... I guess you could say "stiffer" but it really seems like a better match with a little less bounce. The RD seem to recuperate from a dip/ bump much quicker but that is just IMO as I did not "test" them.

I use to prefer the stiffest setting on my 335 & 997 w/ KW's but now I like that the springs are NOT as stiff for every day driving. In comparison, I recall the Eibach not really being that much different (ride) wise and I ultimately decided on the RD's because of the lower stance.

Wheels look great.

What the heck are you talking about shaving a couple of mm off of? Tell me you are not talking about your wheel itself?

OMG, I hope not.

You'd be surprised how many people think you can just shave off aluminum from a modern aftermarket wheel whenever and wherever they want to make it work.

It's kind of scary that the average wheel buyer doesn't understand that an aftermarket wheel is a highly engineered product. Through careful FEA testing (and physical prototype destruction testing), the strength-to-weight has been optimized already by the OE manufacturer. The minimum LOAD RATING for that particular design (on a specific car) requires the kg weight and overall mass to remain unaltered to insure the wheel does not suffer a catastrophic failure under extreme cornering loads. (where stress levels are at there highest)

You should NEVER physically machine (alter) a product of this nature to appease some visual design flaw. That is extremely dangerous, as the wheel could crack or fracture at the centerpad area of the wheel. Very shortly thereafter, the stress crack will result in total failure, causing the entire wheel to separate from the car at speed. That will likely cause you to lose control of the vehicle and crash.

MAZAG, don't even think about doing something like this brother. You could end up killing yourself over something trivial. This is serious bussines, and I'm not kidding around here. It's not worth the risk.

I have had my RDs on the car for about 5k miles and I love them! I have only scraped twice going up/down a driveway and have never scraped on a speed bump. I have to run the EDC on the mid or high level since the low level leaves the car feeling under-damped. Plus the drop is great IMHO.

I have yet to hear anyone complain about the RD sports. I may have to pull the trigger on them.

Did you get them installed yet? What's the verdict? I'm thinking of going with the RDs as well.
