I have the rear sun shade and like it. There are also two manual shades on each side for the rear passengers. The only negative other than the price is the side ones can be a bit fragile if you have kids playing with them. I forget how much the option was but it seemed resonable compared to some other options. You can probably find a picture if you google it. I think they are the same as the sun shades on the other three series.

I have it for the kids in back and didn't want dark tinted windows. No regrets in ordering it, cool to watch it in operation.

I have a sedan and two kids. The power sun shade was a must have.
I always leave it up during summer. I took some pics recently. Don't recall for sure if the rear sunshade was up, but the side ones were. Please mind that I also have the darker rear winows option. |

I leave my rear one up, every little bit of sun blocked helps and i'm not sure if it's redundant but I also have HO ceramic tint 40% all around. I think i bought it as future proof for the kids I will be having. I did hear from various sources that it is fragile and so if kids play with it too much, it might break.

If you're going to tint your windows then I would bother getting it. It'll just be a waiste since the tints block out most of the sun.

I have it on my coupe, but didn't come with the 'clip-on' side ones, unless dealer took them out of the car. I'm almost sure the side ones are a separate option though. I'm using it now, but probably won't after the tinted windows. I wouldn't have ordered the car with it. Only bad thing is it distorts the view, and you can't use it at night. And just like the seat belt 'buttlers', it might crap out with repeated operation. Good day.

Side shades you can only have on the E90
I like the rear sunshade, but I always forget to use it. It's nice to put it up on a hot day to try and keep some interior temps down |

The rear sunshades inevitably seem to cause annoying rattles over time, and they're almost pointless if you're going to tint the windows anyway.

I'm sure on the E90 it would be more useful with the side ones also for kids. |

Panda//Monic is correct. The side shades are not available on the Coupe. Rear only. I like mine a lot. No rattles at all. Here's two pics.

If you live in a sunny climate, then it is definitely worth it. In my case, I live in AZ and even though I've got 35% tint, I use it all the time. The sun here is so intense, any additional sunlight you can block helps keep the interior a little cooler. And when it's 110 outside, every little bit helps.
However, OP, since you're in brooklyn, not really sure if it would be worth it for you.

I had it on my 08. I used it when I wanted more privacy. Didn't really help with the sun much, plus I had tint which helped the most. Still a neat feature IMO.
