6,500km report
I've now had my E90 M3 for 3 months and have just passed 6,500km so I thought I'd give a bit of feedback.
This car just keeps on giving!!! It feels a lot looser and a lot more responsive now. The shift lights get a regular work out and I just can't help hitting 7,000 before slamming the paddle into 2nd, wind it to 7,000 then into 3rd...problem is the car is doing about 140kmh by this stage! That M drive button is so addictive. Some fool sits on your tail...hit the M and it's hyperspace! Around town I'm getting 14L/100km which isn't too bad I guess. I do wish the car had a bigger tank though as the 400 - 450km range just isn't enough for me. Gripes? The windows are a bit squeaky when closed but this is a known problem with the door rubbers and will be sorted out at next service. I'd like a smoother ride but I know I'm likely to get flamed if I suggest ditching the 19" rims for 18" ones! All in all I'm stoked and absolutely love the beast! |

I know what you mean. It may be completely subjective, but after 3000 miles, the engine felt properly broken in and now it revs so much more easily in lower rpms. It is addictive. It was very impressive from the getgo above 4000 rpm, but now it's just endlessly enjoyable. It is a lot of fun to have such a broad band of almost linear and continuous power surge.

Thanks mate.... the wait is painful - especially now since I've sold my car and I'm technically without any wheels. That being said, it does give me the chance to try every other vehicle!.... Still it sounds so exciting to have 6,500kms on the M3....

Zender - I've just hit 7,000kms myself and still loving my Beast. Same issues with regards to the window and a on an off squeak from the brakes.
Looking forward to hitting 10,000 kms In Asia this week for work and missing the V8 rumble. |

I've just hit 14k in my '07 car and loving it. Touch wood, no gremlins yet. I am due for brake fluid replacement in October but I will leave it for a while. The weather has been crapy - wet - and haven't bothered washing the car for a while. Weather is suppose to clear this weekend - may be wash and wax time!
I can feel the car has loosened up considerably and the exhaust tone is getting deeper and menacing. I have a new set of 18" wheels which I might consider installing and then give the 19" a good clean. I still miss my E46 M3 but in the E92 you have got two cars in one - a cruiser and a bruiser!

Mine hit 19,000k's waaaaay too fast. Now it spends alot of time, clean, sitting in the garage, shame really but I am paranoid about to many k's on the clock and it seems such a waste to drive to work and back in traffic in such a car. Best used IMO when the weekend comes around for cruising and enjoying.
Slightly OT but now that the M is nearly 20 Months old I might start to explore a few after market mods. So today I am off to Sydney for a new HiTech exhaust (rear only). They do two systems, and it was suggested that the tourer would be best given the type of mileage I do, highway. I said "what was the other?" they said "more track, noisier" I said "Ï want that one!" Maybe a set of Black 20in BBS CH-R's, we'll see. |

Well....my E90 is my everyday car. It drops the kids off to school and does battle with the other cars in the school carpark and drive thru and it sits in the carpark at work all day.
The only thing I don't do is leave it in dodgy areas at night if I have to go out. That's what the wife's X5 is for!! I wouldn't drive my mum or dad's car - somehow a 1996 Civic doesn't do it for me. And it would be a cold day in Hell before I let the oldies even try to drive my car! |

31,000km on mine now...Only issue has been a faulty key which was replaced under warranty.
More power and a little more rear-end grip would make the car just right I think!
