2010 Last Year for E90 M3 or 2011??
As the title suggest, anyone no for sure the last year for the current E90 M3? Obviously, there are '10's, but will this be the last model year or will they do a 2011?
I have an '09 and wouldn't mind getting another, since I like it so much. So, wanted to get one from the last year. I'm sure the next generation M3 won't be here until '13 or '14. |

I don't think 2011 will be the last year. Why would you want one from the last year? If you want another one, get it now. Nice to see a third LeMans Blue Speed Cloth owner.

Maybe 2012 or 2013 will be the last year. BMW usually still produces M models a year or two after the next gen sedan comes out.
The E36 had 99 M3 sedans produced while the E46 was hitting the showroom floors.

Yep. And seems a while to wait for last year (2012 at least). Also, think the 1st to last M3 V8 will have some cachet in, oh, maybe 30 years.

BMW already said the 3 series redesign is in 2012 with the new M3 to be 2013.
I think it was in the article where M division was talking about the turbo 6-cyclinder in the next M3

The E46 sedan arrived in late 1998 as a 1999 model year. I had a 1997 E36 M3 Sedan...great car. I'm still kicking myself for selling it. |

So the E90 M3 Sedan would stop production one model year before of the new F30 3-Series Sedan introduction, that's MY2012. The E92/E93 M3 would end production a year later (MY2013). Another year would pass by without M3 models in the USA (MY2014) and then the new M3 in all configurations would show up in MY2015. Because BMW is talking about ending production of the E9x a year before schedule, then it could be possible that the new F30 M3 will be introduced at MY2014, or even as early as MY2013 if they also decide to introduce the F30 M3 at the same time that the F30 Coupe shows up. |

Me too - sold my '98 M3/4 to a guy I ran in to 18 months later, who thanked me and said it's running like a top at 175K miles. Guess I already fixed everything that was going to go out... GRRR!

BMW have operated a 7 year cycle historically - first E46 M3 coupes were seen in 2000 and first E92 M3 coupes were seen in 2007...I think the competition has hotted up a lot though in recent times so I would expect to see an earlier release for the next generation M3 in 2013. But at the latest, it would be 2014....

i figured i would bump this topic instead of starting a new thread, reason is that
i am not ready to pull the trigger on an e90 but i feel like i might just have to go for it and order a 2011. any ideas when production will stop for the my2011 and if there will be a my2012 e90? i don't want to miss the boat so to speak on the s65 engine, but at the same time wish i could wait just a bit longer to get my garage a little more empty. |

Beyond that, if things go the typical 7 year cycle, there should be one more model year for the E90 platform. The final model year (2012) will likely be a short one running from late 2011 to early 2012. Will there be a 2012 E90 M3? Hard to say with certainty but my guess is that there will be. Quote:

It wasnt designed in 2011, it wasnt released in 2011, it wasnt anything 2011 since you can buy it now and its 2010. But i wont argue anymore as i know you americans love calling this year's car the next years model |

I don't particularly "love" calling anything by any name. However, I tend to observe convention on such matters so as not to create confusion and/or sound silly. |
