Picking up M3 tomorrow from dealer.

Just picking up my 2009 e92 AW M3 tomorrow from Princeton BMW. Anything I should look for when looking over the car before accepting it? Thanks everyone and I'm SUPER excited to be joining the ///M club!

First of all, Congrats!

Just the usual stuff, check the mileage to make sure it matches your paperwork, and then have fun!

Make sure you pick up during daytime and not when it starts to get dark (i.e after work). I noticed a scratch on the instrument cluster the next day when sunlight revealed it. Fortunately they polished it away during the 1200 mile service.

Ask for tire pressures or check them yourself. My dealer had my right front to 44 and the left front to 25. Go figure...

Congratulations! You will enjoy your new car.

Make sure the tire pumpup thing is in the trunk. If you got USB, make sure the dongle is in there.

Thanks everyone. I'll post the obligatory pictures when I can. This week is crazy! I'm bringing 2 of my car friend's with me (one has a very done up e60 M5 and the other has a very nicely modded S60R) so I'm sure we'll find any scratches. My mother just bought a new 2009 335i hardtop convert last week and we found a few scratches for her and they got fixed ASAP. I'm sure we'll find them. Now it's just going to be the damn break in!!!

look over the car very well (obviously). also check to make sure they give you the manual and 2 manual cases one is a regular bmw one and one is a smaller ///M one. When i picked up my car there were no manuals. i spotted it right away and it turns out they were sitting somwhere where the car was prepped. they brought them over a few minutes later. Now i have never looked at the manual once and dont plan tobut... when it comes to selling the car or returning it if it is a lease its a good thing to have. good luck and crongratz. its an awesome car. use it well.

Don't let them drill the front bumper unless it is too late. When I lived in Philly many years ago, the state only issued one license plate. I am not sure if that is still the case.

I would recommend buying the tire/wheel warranty. I already picked up a sheet metal screw in one of my back tires and saved $400 on a new one. It will also cover your snow tires if they are within BMW spec.

Make sure the hood is latched down correctly. I always check it when I pick my car up from service. It is always only latched on one side. You can lift the hood and see where the two latches plus the one in the middle are. Gently press down on the two sides above the latch to make sure it is snug.

Have fun and drive safe.
