Competition Package --Giving me nightmares

I couldn't sleep thinking that I have an opportunity to order the competition package for my 2011 E92 and chose not to do so.

So I did it, I changed my order to include the ZCP.

I figure even if I hate it, I can keep it to myself.

The last thing I need on my mind in turn 1 at Sebring is "what could have been..."

Garage List
I think the new wheels makes it look more like a 2011 model. I love the regular 19's but when I order my car, it will be with zcp.

Congrats... Your reasons for hesitation were the same as mine... I wouldn't want to car to be any stiffer on the comfort setting. In fact I called it to have it added, thought about it for 4 nights and had it changed.

I don't plan on tracking the car (much), so for NY roads I figured FORGED was the best option regardless of the looks.

Sounds like you made a good decision though, you will have a slightly unique M3 and your rear tires will be 10" wide STOCK.....(that was a heartbreaker for me when I canceled my zcp option). I just want wide tires and a mean stance!

It is distinctive until reps flood the market.

I feel your pain. I had rationalized no ZCP, until last night. But I track a lot.

Well done!

The extra cornering available should help avoid the potholes. However, I'm convinced the comfort setting on the EDC should do the job absorbing an extra 10mm of bump factored into ZCP.

It's a tough call...I too struggled with the decision as well, but just placed my order on Monday and decided to opt for the 19s rather than ZCP.

I made the same decision as you. Just to clarify, ZCP tires are identical to non ZCP tires. The wheel is .5" wider but not the tire. This is a negative in my opinion as it looks odd and makes the rim more vulnerable to damage.

Lower travel is not a problem bubbles, still lots of room in the snow up north with 1/2" drop

Good job adding the change!!

I was always getting the Tech Package.

I found this interesting

"The 10 mm lower suspension is joined by a revised Electronic Damper Control system with a new dynamic Sport setting, where previously the sport setting was fixed (both comfort and normal settings on all M3s are already dynamic), and a new Dynamic Stability Control Plus system with less electronic intervention thereby allowing more slip than the standard car’s M Dynamic Mode (MDM)."

This is typically abbreviated: OEM.
The optional 19s are forged and lighter than both the 18s and the ZCP wheels and are OEM.

Dude there's nothing in the comp pkg that you can't add somehow later.

Thing I don't get is some of the guys who did order the comp pkg yet plan on doing a drop and getting different rims once the car comes in, just doesn't make any sense.

Adding the wheels and dropping it later will cost more than $2500, though. Also the DSC will be remapped and a new EDC mode will be added, which isn't available in the aftermarket as far as I know...

I'm not one of the ones planning on swapping wheels or modding the suspension, either. I really dig the Y-spokes and don't really like aggressive drops.
