TOTALLED...

Tried to avoid hitting a family of deer, and an oncoming car that had veered into my lane and ended up in the guardrail. I admit I was going slightly above the speedlimit, but nothing that I was not use to, on a road that I have driven many times.

Deer+On coming car+Speed+baldish tires+ shitty slush box+loose gravel+DSC= Dead BMW.

but.....

I was driving a 335d SERVICE LOANER!

Accidents are never good, but thank god i wasn't in the ///M. I also feel that If I was in the M it might not have happened.... who knows. Just glad my passenger and I were not hurt and able to walk away. The E90 is a very strong car!

Now for the pictures!

Guess someone thought it was funny:

Sorry to hear about your wreck. But that 335 loaner doesn't look totally to me. It's probably a 2010 model so there's no way it has $38K - $45K worth of damage.

Good to hear that you are ok. I had a deer jump in front of my car a number of years ago so I know how you feel, they seem to come out of nowhere.

In other news, I know where you can get a good deal on a 2010 335d..........

Now that civilization has won the war on drugs, the war on terrorism and the war on poverty, I think it's time to declare war on our most dangerous enemy, DEER!

Glad you and the M are ok!

Next time aim for Bambi's mom.

I feel for you man. I've been hit by deer twice over the years: one ran right smack into the side of the car (T-boned me), the other one tried to jump over and ended up in the front windshield. Grrrrr.

At least you and your passenger are ok.

Cheers.

Wow. Thankfully you are ok and it was a loaner!

I had a high school teacher total his truck, camper, AND boat he was towing when he hit some deer. Crazy how much damage can be caused by them and the resulting carnage.

Why did you say Totalled? I notice people do that for no reason. Is that what BMW or the insurer told you?

Also, what does a "shitty slush box" have to do with it?

It definitely is a total. The repairs plus diminished value push it over the limit. The car needs every panel on the passenger side, hood, bumper, intercoolers, headlight, 2 airbags, dash, steering wheel, plus who else knows.
