Well, I was literally a signature away from pulling the trigger last year and other priorities came up.. I must say, even though at the end of the day, its just a car, i was VERY disappointed.. Now that everything has been cleared out of the way, im in the market for an E9x M3!!!

I will be looking into a slightly used one low miles, 2009 being the oldest year.. I am very patient, and will wait until the right one pops up.
I do however have some questions for those of you who purchased your car used.

1. Can i purchase an extended warranty from BMW if i do not buy the car from a dealer? for example, from an auction?
2. How reliable is the DCT tranny for those of you who have had it longterm now? Im worried that once the warranty ends that it will cost an arm and a leg to repair like the smg, thats why 6mt is something worth considering.
3. Any problems/ complaints from those of you who got the car used?

Can't wait for the day i get her, im looking all over the internet and dealerships for the one that fits my specs..thank you again for any suggestions/advice you may have to offer!

I am on the hunt for a new M3 as well, How come you only want 09+?
is there a problem for the 08's?

I only ask is because I am considering the 08's due to lower prices.

The 08s have the previous generation of the iDrive, which might be a turn off for some people.

well i would love to have the price of the 08 vs the 09, but the sedan had its LCI in 09, and as mentioned above, the updated idrive, just the small details that i would like to have.. nothing wrong w the '08, just my preference.. good luck in your search as well!
