Clutch pedal vibration?
Hi all...
I have noticed recently that when I push the clutch pedal to the floor to shift gears, I can feel a very slight vibration in the pedal just before it reaches the floor. Not every time, but most times. I feel the vibration when the pedal is almost fully to the floor (maybe 1/4" away from fully disengaging the clutch). It is very slight. Anyway, probably nothing but wanted to know if anyone thinks it is a sign of problems to come. The car only has about 4k km and no abuse of the clutch at all (no burnouts, riding the clutch, etc). It didn't do this, or I didn't notice it, until recently. Thanks for any thoughts... P.S. I did search first

I think that it is normal, mine does it too sometimes. I have about 7,900miles on her. I would not worry about it.

s the French Canadian version; haven't experienced that, but I wouldn't worry about it.

Any updates? I started to feel this recently as well. You can feel rotation of the flywheel or something from your foot??? If you hold the pedal down, it starts to go away like the turning comes to a stop. I drove hard this weekend... wondering if something is off. Clutch is perfectly functional, just that last 2" of travel feels odd (vibrates). Anybody else?

Mine continues. Seems like only when the car is driven a lot and hot. I have decided it is normal but will mention it when I'm next at the dealer just in case.

Just picked up my 2011 with 6MT last week. Only have 250 miles on it and it does the same thing. Vibration about an inch from the clutch being on the floor. I will also make note of it with service when I reach the 1200 mile mark and go in for service.

My 2011 does it as well (800 miles), only when its hot and I push it all the way to the floor. It depends on the RPM when shifting, if you shift and let off the clutch before the RPM drops too far you dont feel it. Its when the tach drops between 2-3K rpm is when I feel it. I put a little rubber bumper on the pedal stop, about 1/8" thick if that and compresses almost flat when i push the clutch down and it seems better but that may be my imagination. I'm 6'4" and its hard not to push the clutch all the way to the floor so it may do it before it hits the stop as well.
I'll mention it when I take it in for the 1200 mile service but I have read its a fairly normal thing. My guess its the hydraulic line resonating at a certain RPM or maybe the line is not isolated well enough from the engine/transmission. But yes it feels almost like the throwout bearing is hitting something moving, which you really shouldnt be able to feel with a hydraulic clutch even if it was happening. |
