High-Def radio ?
I have a 135i and it isn't High def ready. I want High-def soooo bad!! Do all I need is a converter box? I dont want to change my factory radio out. Please help.

not worth it. I live in the DC area and i ended up disabling the HD. stuff would be loud, then soft..then loud... it would take 30 seconds to establish a connection to a station...the songs on the HD only channels were not that great.
IMO id spend money elsewhere..

BTW.. HD doesn't refer to HiDef any more.
From WIKI :According to iBiquity's (developer's) website the "HD" is simply a brand name and has no meaning, although in its early whitepapers,[5] iBiquity used the original name "Hybrid Digital". That was later dropped. There is no connection with high-definition television (HDTV), although like HDTV the HD Radio specification provides enhanced capabilities over the old analog format, such as 5.1 surround sound. ..also, in some areas the reception IS better in Analog, and you DO have to turn the HD off (as per the BMW radio owners manual..), so don't feel like you are too deprived, unless you want to beat yourself up for not having the "latest" version of something... Thats cars... the next better innovation is always right around the corner... also not all radio stations broadcast in HD. Just some. |
