The Dynaudio 172 shows a mounting depth of 78mm to the Morel 71mm, and the Morels that have been shown installed here by VP Electricity have had the enclosures ground down and are mounted with a (3/4"?) spacer that brings the speaker right up against the seat rail. I'm not sure how you would install something deeper without alot of modification.

The grill on the Morel hits, not the driver. The driver is under the seat. Unless you plan on chucking stuff under there you'll be fine without a grill. If you want a grill, go with the
Morel. |

I like to match so I'd run another 600/4 and a 750/1. You could always check everything and use Audison amps with the link between the B1 and the amps. Pretty sweet. I almost did that myself but ended up selling the B1 and ordered a JBL MS-8.

nice so basically run (2) jl audio 600/4 and (1) 750/1... the 750 I imagine would go to the L7? and the other 600/4 would run the midbass? or is that too much power?

Have you actually confirmed this? You know, the basket on the MW172 is a hell of a lot wider than the Morel's, which means even at identical mounting depth, the Dyne would sit higher than the Morel, due to the slanted enclosure bottom.

Talk to Ken (VP Electricity). He's done the Morel on a few cars (1 and 3ers) and it's confirmed.
Have you looked at the basket on a Morel? Morel has been using a Dyn style basket since they were nothing more than a Dyn ripoff back in the day. The Elate and Supremo 9" basket is almost exactly the same as the Dyn and is quite wide itself. Fitment of either shouldn't be terribly difficult. |
