Time for a Laser shifter

Being the great son that I am, My mom asked me to come over and help her take her bed apart. So I did. Now the fun part. I am on my way home(tired) in a rush to get home, not paying attention to my speed. Guess what I got a ticket. -- The entire time I was doing 73ish and this car gets in front of me taking me to 70. So being me, I punch it and go around him. just as I do that....BAM! I get a Laser Hit. I shot to the right lane and pulled over and waited for the lights to come up. He shows up and says "officer:WHAT WAS THAT!!? Me: you saw that huh? btw my firearm is on the Dash. - Officer: ok, thanks. He takes my license and 10min later returns. - officer: Mr Laws step out of the vehicle for me please. - I am thinking.. oh snap he thinks i am drunk or something. - Officer: Whispers - let me turn my radio off so this isn't recorded. --Me: thinking he is about to rodney king me or something. - Officer: Dude, I had my laser on you and saw you slingshot around that car and thought to myself this is going to be good. I got you doing 107 in a 65. Me: No.. really.. you sure it was me you clocked - officer- Laughing -- yeah, that was insane, you were doing 74 one sec , then it jumped triple digits. that car nice and fast but you need to save it for the race track...you are lucky you got me, anything over 100 is jail time, I am going to write this for 75 since you seem like a cool guy: Me: sign, sorry I didnt know. - Officer: Well let me turn the radio back one. : Mr. Laws I got you doing 75 in a 65. You will not incur any points on your license and you can contest this in court. Get home safe. 68 the rest of the way sucked. Thanks Mom

Good save....... I think most cops expect to be met with douchbaggery when they pull a Bimmer over. Sometimes some good ole humbleness goes alooooong way.

Every profession has good guys and bad guys. I think your scenario saved you. He knew you were passing... Had you been in steady the left lane going 107 when he lazed, you'd writing this after getting bailed out.

Agreed. And to OP: you lucked in big-time. They won't do that where I live (have even been written up erroneously for doing 58 in 30, when it was a 35 zone - had to contest).

Extremely good luck. I only do over 100 when I am relatively clear of other vehicles and can see for a long way. I got my first ticket in years Wednesday, also Lidar, for 77 in a 60. Yep, a jammer would be good.

Absolutely, most cops aren't too bad. Just don't be a prick to them and maybe you'll get off. I got off on rolling thru a stop sign a couple months back. No ticket. Just be nice.
