07 BMW X3 3.0si Cylinder Head Replacement

Obviously this is not all I do but you get the idea. hah.

How do you pay yours?

why does a 3 year old bmw need new cylinder head? please tell me abuse.

good for you and your profession. a technicians life is not easy considering the complicated mess of systems in cars nowadays and the flat rate system you have to deal with.

me, i'm a defense contractor. scum of the earth. work for the highest bidder as long as they are red white and blue. pays for toys and i make things that keep our troops safer out there.

I second the defense contractor gig!! I did it cheap (as a Marine) for 3 deployments. Now I am on my second as a contractor.

The reason the cylinder head was replaced is because of a defect in it that would allow oil to bleed down and cause the lifters to tick on a cold start.

I was under the impression that the "new" solution to this issue was the replacement of the exhaust cam lifters.

On the bright side the head replacement pays better :-)
