Should i go for heated seats?
Heated Seats. Never had a car with heated seats, i just wanted to know if its really worth it to order this option when i get the car. What do you guys think? during the winter it only gets about 45 degrees(F) and summer it gets ass burningly hot, so im not sure whether id really want this or not. Anything?

I didn't think much of it when I first got it, but when the cold weather came around.. I was so glad I got it.

its the best. in socal were not used to cold weather, and when we get cold weather we freeze our asses off. heated seats are probably my favorite features. I've yet to really feel my heated seats however, since I've had my car since end of May and it hasn't been cold out here since.

I'm in the minority so far but I don't think it's important unless you are getting the E93. I had the option in my last two E46 cabs and enjoyed it but skipped it in my E92 and don't miss it at all. My view is that if its cold enough to use then you are usually bundled up and by the time you are feeling much warmth through your layers of clothing from the seat the whole cabin is heating up from the regular heating system.
Furthermore, once the cabin is warm, I find the hot seat kind of annoying but that's just me. So ultimately, I thought I'd be getting the option to use for maybe 5 minutes less than 10 - 15 times per year. Also, if you're getting the Cold Weather package check out the front headlight washer "bumps". I think they look fugly. My 2 cents but your going to be psyched either way, its a wonderful car! |

I live in San Antonio, we get maybe 3 really cold days a year. I also keep my car in the garage. I've had cars with it and often forgot I even had it. It was nice when I remembered but unless I live north of Dallas again, I probably won't ever get it.

Get the heated seats. I ordered them again on my M3. I enjoy driving with the windows down on a cool evening. You can hear the exhaust note and still stay warm.

I guess it depends how cold it gets where you live. I am in New England and I have had them on my last 2 cars and ordered it with the M3 as well. Its nice to put them on in the winter when first getting into a cold car. Frankly I could live without them but my wife loves them. I didn't get the cold pkg because I didn't want the headlight washers or ski bag.

I live in Florida and do not use them. My Wife has had them in all 3 of her BMW's and loves them. I do use them in her car when my back hurts though and it is great.

Bakersfield gets cold at night during the winter, doesn't it? I say get the heated seats. It feels great to have the warmth underneath you but still have the cool breeze on the face. If you are getting a e93, i think its a no brainer, e90/92, I would still get it, if only for resale.

The way i see it....If you are buying a new BMW your looking at 50k give or take, Heated seats should not be a deal breaker. Oh no heated seats im not buying it. I have had them on every car and never use them, save when they come on automatically. even then i turn them off after 5 minutes, cause they get annoying (cabin heating is already on). I didn’t get them in the M3 for that simple reason...never use them. like others have said here maybe, maybe 5-15 times a year. I don’t think I’m old enough to use them as a way to loosen my back. Depending on the type car you are getting, let’s say M3, heated seats are not what I’m concerned about...

If you bring fast food home it's great. I turn the passenger seat to high and throw a towel over it. Food's still hot when I get home.
Oh, and it's nice in the winter also, but I live in colder climate than you do. Chicks dig the hot seat. |
