well let me explain a bit more...

im not quite sure exactly but mine sounds more like a loose strut sound.. like when hitting a bump it sounds like metal clunking sound im not exactly sure how it sounds but its not your normal bump or small pothole. its like after you hit the bump your hear a metal to metal sound but its very light. ...

SORRY GUYS IM REALLY HAVING HARD TIME TO EXPLAIN IT

I'm on my second e90 M3. Both have had a very slight clunk as I turn into the driveway and run over the 1.5 inch concrete lip at the end of the driveway with the front wheels turned. I even replaced the stock track arm bushings with Dinan bearings and still had the same noise. So I think a slight clunk over small low speed bumps is normal.

Clunk ? is the noise like a little knock ? sometimes when you slow down to go over a pothole that you cant avoid or a speed bump ?

Well the last time i had one of thos problems was when my last car was with me for 4+ years and the rubbers/leather the engine sits on "as i was told by the BMW mechanic" dried up because of the hot weather here or because of usage. I got them changed and the car went to normal again as good as new.

I would personally get it checked just in case

should be nothing to worry about.

I recently started to experience this "clunk" and the car is going in next week to be looked at. I went for a drive with the master tech and he confirmed the "clunck" I was hearing. We're trying to isolated the noise because I had my 6MT replaced recently under warranty in a '07 build car. I definitely think it is the front suspension. You hit a pothole and as the car settles it "clunks".

This "clunck" should be normal only if everyone is experiencing it. If only a handful are, then it is a problem or an issue.

I had a more serious clunk in the front end of my previous car at one point. The dealer said some mount somewhere had come loose. Sorry I don't have more detail. But both e90s have had a minor driveway entrance clunk that I attribute to the steering rack; but it could be something else.

I also just started another thread "Suspension Clicking"

E92 Suspension vs. E92 M3

I am interested in Moton as my suspension upgrade. In particular the Clubsport series. When I contact Moton they said that they have the kit for the E92 M3 but that they don't have the necessary specs for the E92 335ci in this case to determine if their kit will work?

They are not sure if the suspension used on the E92 platform is the base for the M3 or if they are in any shape the same. If they were then they are confident that they can make the M3 kit work on our 335ci (sport or non-sport).

Is there's anyone here that can either confirm or deny that the 335i suspension geometry and specs are the base platform for the M3 please let me know

Moton is also checking with their contacts to confirm, hopefully someone with sure knowledge about both suspensions can chime in.

I am sure that the M3 suspension is definitely different in settings compared to ours, but if the parts are the same then the valving etc. can be reworked.

If you are stock and under warranty, and you can replicate this problem, go to the dealer.

If nobody has tampered with your suspension at all, chances are nothing is loose.

If this helps at all, I have heard this sound on some of the M3's I have seen in the shop. Same scenario, going up or down a driveway at low speeds. Each and every time it was the plastic fenders clicking and making noise since they are not hard bolted to the body and are mounted on slider tabs for heat expansion.
