USED Dealer never gave me my Navigation DVD
Hey guys,
I m just wondering if I can burn my friends BMW Navigation DVD onto a DVD-R or DVD+R and use it for my navigation system. The dealer never gave me mine when i picked up my m3. hahaha yes I don't want to spend $100 on eBay look for a cheaper solution. |

I think you should be able too. Thats what I did with my E46 nav (though I don't condone piracy, I follow obviously the law and have the original set at home ) lol.
I could be wrong, but dont E9x's use hard drive storage media for the nav maps? Last edited by henryyxyu; 09-25-2010 at 11:22 PM.. |

2008s are DVD-based systems, at least mine is with a June 2008 build date.

I burned a copy onto a DVD+R and it works just fine. Didn't want the real one to get stolen while my car is parked with top down.

I might do that to protect mine too, but may I ask you what software did you use? Usually you can't copy protected CDs or DVDs. At least with the utilities that come with the computer (Roxio, I think). It's not a big deal, but if I can make a copy and use that one, it'd be nice. Thx.

This sentence fragment makes no sense. You probably meant that you DON'T condone piracy.

I bought my used 08 e90 M off of carmax and I had to order it thru BMW dealer and carmax reimbursed me. After I kind of had to force them because I told them how can you sell a high end vehicle w/o any nav cd or car booklet which I was also missing

Did not realize that: seems like every year they keep enhancing the navi & iDrive command software. Still glad I waited until '09.

No spare w/ the E9X M3 (repair kit) and also no flashlight these days. You should have the book and clearly DVD if it's '08.
