HELP! Black Window Trim has a Rainbow Effect
I've noticed that the black trim along the window/door frame of my 08 e90 has a weird rainbow effect happening. I'm not sure what has caused this. If I wipe it with a damp cloth it goes away then re-appears. I havent used any polish on it since owning it (bought it CPO in March of this year)
Sorry, I tried to take pics but they aren't coming out very clear. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how can I fix it and restore the clean black finish? Thanks in advance for the guidance |

I have it too on Jerez 2008 e90. However, I never called them on it (at least not yet) but I suspect they would willingly repaint the part if you showed it to them. But is it really worth it?

Paint cleaner such as Meguiar's Deep Crytstal Paint Cleaner will take it out.
http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/produc...p?T1=MEG+A3016 Just wax it after. |

Its from what ever soap you use to wash your car. Many touchless places use a very harsh soap and it messes it up. It sucks I know..I now put painters tape over the trim before I have it washed at the touchless place. Its a pain in the ass.

Eh - plastix is a polish for clear plastic. It might work, but I'm not sure why you would use it. The trim pieces are painted black and metal underneath.
