Is it worth it to buy an m3 this coming summer?

So the big question is.. IS it worth getting an m3 this coming summer? We all know that the next gen m3 is right around the corner.. And if so, mineral white metallic or interlagos blue in terms of rarity?

I ordered an Interlagos Blue m3 fully loaded this past summer only to have another salesman sell it for commission money while my representative was gone on vacation.

Pretty bummed but willing to give it another chance, I have a MB c350 sport right now and I'm loving it but still dying to get my hands on an m3....

any suggestions?

oh and what's this i hear about zcp2 coming out for MY 2012?

The next gen m3 are not really right around the corner. You still have the MY 2012, then there is a good wait-about 2 years for the M3 to come to production after the 3 series has come out.
Get it now.

3 years is a long time away - trust me. Get what you want and love it. Nothing will ever be a like a naturally aspirated engine!

There will always be something newer (and better?) in the future. Buy what you want, when you can, and enjoy it.

No. An M3 isn't worth it. I wouldn't get one. You should wait for the next generation as the current version is getting kind of long in the tooth. Besides, one of those jerk sales guys will probably just sell it out from under you anyway.

Is it worth it? Not really if you don't really enjoy a car that is quick, fun and sounds intoxicating.

In reality you say right in your post that you are thinking M3, which means you want M3, which means this is a useless thread...order one, drive it, love it. We all did.

I think the e92 is going to be a classic and the V8 engine will prob never be seen again. I would recommend to everyone to get the M3 now before its gone forever. You can always get best of both world and just lease one now and pick up the new one when it comes out after the lease

I don't know where you heard about this "ZCP2" but that's not happening.

People expecting big brakes and an exhaust for $2,500 are smoking the good stuff.

ZCP will remain as-is especially since BMW has released their performance line for exhaust and other performance add-ons. It's all money.

And I'm sorry but you're question of "is it worth it" is not the brightest question posed. Is it worth it to who? You? Me? If you can afford a $80k car and you like it, it's worth it. If not, it's not worth it. There are a lot of factors that go into what something is "worth" and isn't for a particular individual. And going from a C350 to an M3 is quite a leap not only in terms of car but financially.

Rarity? It's not a 599 GTB, it's an M3 they makes tens of thousands of them, they're not rare and never will be. I wouldn't even call an E46 CSL "rare" it's just a very limited production car.

I asked myself the same question and went back and forth for about .5 seconds. Worth every penny and then some! YOU CAN DO IT!
