Question about shift lights without iDrive.

Hello !
I will order M3 Coupe soon. Minimum options, because I'm buying the car for driving, not for entertainming dvd movies or ipads

List of options:
DCT
Heated seats
Speed cloth
Radio + simple sound system

I do not want to add iDrive with monitor. Will I be able to select shift lights on/off without iDrive ?

it defaults to being turned off. you have to turn them on and you use the button on your turn signal to do so. your manual has a pretty easy step by step guide to do so.

Are you going to get EDC? You're able to get that without premium/navi/iDrive. Not sure about the newer cars, but I have it on my 08 with minimal options. I have leather, that's about it.

Nope, no EDC.
So, every time I start the car - I need to turn on shift lights ? Any way to leave them on by default ?

You are right, you have to activate them every time you start the car. Is a quick procedure with no iDrive.

I don't have iDrive and my car remembers my shift light settings. That is, I am not having to activate them each time I start my car.

There's a reprogram available to fix this issue. Just ask the dealer for the update.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."
