Reading emails text messages on iDrive

Hi guys, just curious here, my cell contract ends in two months and I was wondering what to get for my next cell, either a blackberry torch or an iphone. I don't really care which, I just want to be able to read emails and text messages on my iDrive (MY2011) if that's possible at all. I believe you can't do that with iphones but with blackberry torch this is possible? Also I read somewhere here that your iDrive can actually read the texts out loud???

Yes. It works with any blackberry that runs os6.0. Awesome feature. Reads all my emails and texts out loud. Go with the bb. Also good for a few laughs when it reads the funny things my friends tend to write.

Does your Nav say the names of streets?

So I got a BB Torch, syncronized/paired it with iDrive. I can see my contacts and make calls, but can't read emails or messages. Could someone help me on this? Is there a setting on my BB that I have to change? Thank you
