Come on guys we own one of the most amazing cars on the road
Sophisticated 8 cylinder high revving engine 0-60 4.5 sec give or take a tenth Looks are killer roars like a champ if you put an exhaust by AA or any of the other aftermarket co. People pull up next to me just to compliment me on the sound of the exhaust and the look of my wheels etc ! And what do you want to know what the M button does or does not do? You get a "come on MAN" for that one sorry but you deserve that one Do yourself a favor and go to the top of the page and type M button in the search engine Lots of info cheers

I was told by a BMW rep that the M button did not have any function unless the car had EDC. I am reluctant to believe him so I am looking to see if his statement is valid. Maybe I overlooked this answer in the using the search feature as I wouldn't have asked if I was able to find it.

My e90 M3 has no EDC and also no M button. Not sure about the newer models though, I think you can get MDM and Sports Throttle/Steering without EDC, so maybe there is an M button for that?

Primarily it is the only way to enable the M Dynamic mode of Dynamic Traction Control to allow a 15% yaw angle before the electonic nannies kick in.

Google search works much better. Also, "M Button" is part of a feature called MDrive. Try this:

IMHO, your SA's is a dip$hit
With VERY few exceptions, many Sales Advisers know very little about the cars they sell, esp. M cars as they sell so few of them and most SA's simply are there to "sell" and view intimate knowledge of vehicles as not necessary to their success, nor do they ever really have to live with the consequences of their mis-information (post sale).
I would also go so far as to say that many have not even read BMW USA marketing drivel that often get things incorrect as well. I would bet that >90% of our fellow forum members know more about the vehicles than most at the dealership level. I will gladly admit there are some very notable exceptions (Ryan Amico is one that comes to mind), and I would also say that BMW CA's/SA's are some of the better across the auto-industry. Buyer Beware and GET INFORMED, there is no excuse for ignorance: M3post and the are your friend, ally and will save you literally thousands of dollars and major disappointment down the road. Apologies in advance for the soapbox ramble, don't mean to hijack your thread. Quote:
