E9x M3 brake ducting by Fall Line Motorsports

As many of you know, our latest Portfolio project built for Martin D will see quite a bit of track use this season, and we wanted to make sure Martin had ample brake cooling options for some of the faster courses the car will see.

We worked with Fall Line Motorsports to mate some brake cooling ducts to the M3 GT4 front lip. Fall Line custom built these beautiful brake backing plates specifically to work with Brembo's rotors and we were able to route the brake ducting directly to the M3 GT4 front lip from there.

The backing plates are literally a millimeter from the brake rotor at any point. The clearance is amazing!

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

Thanks for sharing Nate. Does installation require removal of the wheel bearing?

Nice! Any plans for making a kit
stock brakes? Does this limit full lock steering?

These brake air ducts, when coupled with a proper front bumper air dam, helps force channeled air into the free-floating 2 piece rotors. The end result is cooler brakes, translating into less brake fade and more consistent brake pedal modulation under hard repeated braking (ie: track conditions).

The piece onto which the duct is welded is the backing plate, not the rotor. As Ilia stated, the backing plates are within millimetres of the rotor.

Nice work guys!

Nate:
Will these backing plates fit on the "regular" Brembo 380mm GT kit? If so, I'm interested.

Can dirt or debris accumulate and possibly clog the ducting or brake / rotors?
