Color Hierarchy
Setting aside the "Individual" colors for a moment (that could be a whole 'nother thread), how would you rank the colors available for the M3?
Here's my hierarchy: 1. Silverstone Metallic 2. Mineral White 3. Alpine White (interestingly, my car is this color) 4. Jerez Black 5. Jet Black 6. Space gray 7. Interlagos Blue 8. Le Mans Blue 9. Melbourne Red Obviously, this is completely subjective. "To each his own," but I am curious to see if anyone agrees with my ranks...

Here's mine:
1. Colors - things like blue, red, orange - anything that is interesting and less commonly seen ... N. Blacks N + 1. Grays and silvers N + 2. White I know you were talking about the M3 and standard colors, but my response also holds for any other car. |

1. LeMans Blue
2. Interlagos Blue 3. Alpine White (interestingly, my car is this color, too) 4. Mineral White 5. Jet Black 6. Jerez Black 7. Melbourne Red 8. Space Gray 9. Silverstone Metallic Sorry guys, I've always been in the "hate Silverstone" club and I realize that I'm in the minority. The only times I like it are when it happens to look like Titanium Silver. I really don't care for the blue hues, and I HATE the greenish hues. The green is really what kills the color for me. But obviously many of you love it...different strokes for different folks, I guess! And I've always wanted to love Space Gray, and I even considered getting it, but I think it needs to be just slightly darker with slightly more metallic flake. And the pinkish hues visible in full sun have to go. Again, no offense to the SG owners...there's a BIG gap between my #8 and #9 rankings!

To me Silver isn't even on the list. I have hated Silver cars since I was 16 years old. OVER it.

With every car purchase I want to get the red but I end up with a more conservative color. Same with M3, as much as I love its Melb Red, I just couldn't drive it to work..it may have something to do with me being 39 years old, almost 40..
My GT3 will be red

HAHA! Good, i was worried i would offend some MR folks.
As for Silverstone, well, i've never seen green, but if I get another E92 it will be sivlerstone, MW, or an Individual color (most likely azurite black or moonstone).

This is really interesting. The most popular color ITRW is AW and yet it is way down on the list here. I had SG and am now getting AW. If I had my choice, I'd get the GTS orange though....LOVE that color.

I love my AW but I guess I'm just bored with it (it's my second AW E90). I think it looks sharp, and maintenance is easy, but I just long for something more exciting and would choose a blue if I had to do it over again. An added benefit to me, since I do my own details, would be that a color with more depth would really "pop" more after a good polish/seal/wax job. In other words, it would let me enjoy the fruits of my labor a bit more!
