Question regarding iPod use in 2011 135i...
I am new to the whole iPod/MP3 thing. My 135i has the iPod and USB adapter built in. Judging by what the owner's manual said, I can also use other storage devices as well? Say a SanDisk mp3 player? Or possibly a DROID phone with the correct adapter? Sorry, I am technically challenged when it comes to this since it is new to me.

Only iPod with connection cable, you can connect anything with a 2.5 line out but will not get in-dash support like you get with the ipod. So yes your ANDROID will play something like Pandora but will not give you in-dash support for changing tracks, etc.

When you plug your phone in it should give you the option to put it into disk mode and then it'll play and list the tracks the same as it would from a USB stick.

Also, you can load songs onto the cars HDD via the USB port in the glove compartment.

Interesting. I didn't even know that was an option. Where can I find out how much storage is on the car's HDD? I don't have IDrive, if that matters for any of this. Again, please excuse the ignorance on this topic. I am totally new to the iPod / mp3 gig. Thanks for all your input.

Only if you have iDrive with Professional Nav. The business nav does not have a HDD... well, it does, but you can only put map updates on it... not music...
