2011 e92 alarm issue

Just got the car a few months ago, about 1.8 k miles and I was in a drive through line this morning in D1 and the car alarm started going off with the engine running.

I didn't even know I had an alarm. I didn't know what to do at first as my alarm was going off as I was driving down the road. I finally pulled off the road and turned the engine off and clicked the lock button and that disabled it.

Has this happened to anyone else, sounds like a big problem if this keeps happening?

Was your key in your pocket? You probably set it off.

Prolly set off "panic".

I had my FOB in my pocket once...was in a restaurant eating...and some late comers came in and were like..."Why do you have your windows down?". Was like...wtf!

I think if the trunk button is pressed for 3 or more seconds the alarm goes off.

Is this only on 2011? I notice you have an 08 RaceDoc. Did your car come with the alarm or did you install after?

I don't think that would necessary happen while the car is on though...but I don't know for sure. But I guess since you can lock and unlock from the remote with the car running, you can set the alarm off too.

why would it be the trunk button, wouldn't you also open the trunk too?

Single press pops the trunk. A press and hold sets off the "panic".
