anyone have to change their clutch or flywheel in the 6mt yet?
can these high performance BMW parts hold through a beating? how long are they designed to last under track use? thanks..

if you are like a jack that doesn't know how to drive, can last at least 50k (and believe me I've seen those).
But I concur with E=MC2~ 100k |

I don't know how we can project lifespan and durability when the cars have been out only 3 years and there are few high mileage examples. We can say that some have been tracked a bit and not had issues with the clutch.
I am not sure we can compare to some other BMW, since the other BMW did not weigh the same and did not have the same engine. I am also not sure whether any other BMWs have run the same clutch, which I believe is a twin disc clutch with lightened flywheel. For whatever it is worth, Bimmerworld does not appear to sell a HD E9x M3 clutch. Turner sells a racing E9x M3 clutch that it uses on its race cars, but does not recommend it for the street. |
