Will BMW assist/roadside work outside of the U.S?
Making the drive to Toronto, Canada and was just wondering if i had issues would i still be able to call BMW assist?
Only reason I ask is that i hear a U.S car cant get warranty work done at a Canadian dealership. Was wondering if this was the case with assist as well.

Assist probably works anywhere you can get a signal when you hit the button. For a US-spec car, that should still include Canada.
Roadside is different story since you are relying on them having a service agreement with various towing regional providers. You can call the 800 number from anywhere in the world of course, but I doubt they'll be able to provide you with service outside the continental US. |

I've had to use Roadside assistance a couple of times in the U.S. and it worked flawlessly so you should be alright if you drive to Toronto. Roadside Assistance works for North America.
If your car is under warranty then in the eventuality that you need repairs to be done the canadian dealership will be able to charge the work under the BMW USA warranty. I've had work done under warranty on my X5 in Dover, Delaware last year and the dealership in Delaware contacted my dealership in Montréal to have the work covered under BMW Canada so I assume that the opposite is true also. Drive safely and remember that Canada is metric (100kph is 62mph). |
