Insects Popping Up Through Defroster??

So, my girlfriend and I were driving for about 20 miles when all of a sudden this huge moth starts flying around the windshield. It freaked me out at first.

At first we thought it got through a window, but we were on the highway and the windows had been up all day. We watched as it flew right down into the defroster and disappeared. We realized it came from there.

We drove around for about another 45 minutes and then it came back out again and we were able to get it out the passenger window.

Has anyone else had critters popping up through the vent? Car is garaged 99%, but it was parked outside last night at hotel in Anaheim.

At some point you had your windows open or car door open, and one of the critters got in while you weren't looking and laid a nest.

Only other way this could happen, if you were missing cabin filters and fresh air filters.

This is funny. I just learned today that my car might have one or more insect invasion. After a long drive this morning, i returned to my car in the afternoon to find a spider web in the top opening of my steering wheel! I was like WTF? in 3 hours some spider spun a huge web on my steering wheel? I hope that's the last time i ever see that.

Also 99% garaged, although since the weather has been nicer, i have forgotten to close the windows while in the garage on occasion. I already know that's my problem and will keep shut from now on. Never had an issue with vents, but maybe they get in that way too?

I wish I had your spider, it would have trapped my moth!! That sucker was huge. I would never have believed it would squeeze into the defroster vent, but I saw it go back in. Maybe it came through a window and was nesting, but they had been up for at least 20 hours and I don't garage it with them down.
