HD Radio sucks
First of all, I thought HD radio was supposed to be clearer... I live in the NY Metro area and it's constantly buffeting, making it very unenjoyable to listen to the radio.
Second, HD or not, isn't it standard in cars these days for the head unit to display song info (artist, track name, etc)? Note: I do not have iDrive/nav system. |

My HD sounds great when it's not switching back and forth to standard radio.

I actually like HD. Brings in a lot more channels. The FM stations that I listen to now have additional HD channels with different music choices without ads. The sound difference on FM is not that dramatic, but AM HD is amazing. Talk shows sounds like the talent is in the back seat. I have no problem with buffering but I would expect this living in the wide open spaces of Nebraska.

Try turning on your RDS on the radio. Then, IF the station broadcasts the singer/title... you will see it on the radio's display. Over here in DE there is only one radio station that I recieve that broadcasts the singer/bands name/info with the RDS turned on. |

I HATE it, how do you disable it?
it's constantly switching on and off, none of the stations are strong enough where I live

I have problems with it switching all the time too, especially if the road I'm driving on has a dip in it so it's lower then the rest of the overall landscape. Somehow the signal has problems reaching this area. I live in Wilmington, DE which is outside Philly so most our stations are from there. The stations located in my city don't have the problem that bad but Philly stations are terrible. I went back to my iPhone and pandora Internet radio..
