Should I get a lawyer

Got a 2 speeding tickets a few weeks apart. Both times I was ticketed for going 10mph over the speed limit. Should I hire representation? Any one you would recommend?

If they were in separate cities, I would just do deferred adjudication for each and be more careful (at least for the next 6 months). If in the same city, I believe you can do defensive driving for one and deferred for the other, but not absolutely sure. I would guess that a lawyer would be at least as much as just going the deferred route for essentially the same result.

+1 on the deferred adjudication option. If this doesn't work, get a lawyer so you can push out the date of one of the tickets so you can use deferred adjudication for each ticket. I have no experience in these matters, but someday told me about it BTW, get a radar!

Several friends used him with good results. I would do DD for one of the tix and go with lawyer/ deferred adjudication option as other mentioned. Good Luck

I always retain counsel. My thinking is that you fight all traffic violations and only use deferred adjudication and defensive driving when you have no other option. Two attorneys that I recommend are: Paul Kubosh 713-222-0880, and David Sprecher 281-496-7300.

I agree, no sense in lawyer for a ticket you can handle on your own... If you fight it you will probably pay more in fees. (and might come off your record) ... THe other routes will get it off your record and cost less.
