Went to my first BMW club meeting last night...

and it was really fun! There were only about 15 people in attendance, but it was great to meet and talk with people who share my passion. You should have seen their reactions when I said I have an M3! Priceless! (I was the only one) All the guys were trying to figure out ways they could drive my car! This was my response to all.. One of the guys teaches driving school, and as others on this forum have suggested to me, I will be attending, hopefully, soon. It was a great place to make some connections.

Unfortunately BMWCCA run high speed driving event generally don't allow convertibles. If they put on a car control school, you should try that out. Also, if you like road trips, you should consider Ofest, rumor is that for 2013 it will be on the west coast for the 1st time in a really long time.

Funny you should say that, because I did hear the instructor say something about limitations with the convertible. That's what he must have been talking about. Ofest sounds like fun. Where can I get further information about it?

mamadub,

Glad to hear you had a great time and showed them fellows that they are not the only ones with this passion.

The previous weekend I drove to the track just east of Toronto, ON Canada, it was nice to meet a few members there from this forum. So I know what fun it is to meet others that share the same passion in automobiles

Re: driving course ... one can never have to much knowledge along those lines, therefore if you have a chance by all means do it. It might get you out of a tight situation one day even safe you from injury

Always happy and save motoring

Cheers,

Rolf-Dieter

Mamadub, glad to hear you connected with your local BMW Club. You will have fun and they will show you new ways to enjoy your E93 M3.

My Wife and I have hosted several Club Dinners at our house - we have M3's, 535's, 320i's and 2002's show up - it's like a BMW Car Museum in our driveway.

I heard this past year at the Track that some BMW Clubs are allowing the Hardtop Convertible on the Track but I haven't seen any yet. If you get a chance to attend a track event or Car Control School, do so, you will be thrilled and amazed and quite possibly hooked for life!

Kind regards,
Chris
