Might be buying an E92..need advice (high mileage)
Hello,
I'm looking into buying an 08 with around 50k miles. The owner has said there's no accidents/issues but i will definitely run a carfax... he's asking a good price for it.. I was wondering, would it be a bad idea purchasing an 08 with around 50k miles for mid/high 30s....? Is there anything due at around 50k? Does maintenance get more expensive down the road? Should i get it checked out by a dealer? Thanks for the advance!! much appreciated CHEERS |

yes have it inspecetd by dealer, worth the money. 50k miles is alot . pay a little more and get cpo car at lowish 40s. high 30s is not a deal for a private sale for a 50k car. that's probably just kbb.

Like others have mentioned, I'd rather pay a bit more for a CPO car or get an extended warranty. Even though the e9x M3's are great, if anything does go wrong (out of warranty) - do not be surprised to dish our thousands for major repairs. Either set aside some cash for the 'what ifs' or get an extended warranty/CPO.

I bought an 08 e90 with 11000 miles cpo and its still under original factory warranty till july. Then the cpo warranty kicks in for two years. I paid 46000. Might be a little high but two and a half years worry free, just can't beat that imo.

I purchased an '08 a few weeks back. Not CPO but ran a carfax. All details coming back were good and car has remaining base warranty until 7/2012. Purchased a third party extended warranty, 5 more years and/or 100,000 miles, which ever comes first.

50k miles is not a lot in reality. When I first saw this thread I was thinking 90k miles. This mileage is fine. I would agree CPO if at all possible but the high mileage should be taken out of the OP topic as anything 1-60000 miles is considered normal mileage.
