Decision nearly complete

I woke up and realized I had less than 2 months left on my 09 M3 lease. Black on red model. I have been preoccupied with life and have not kept up with M3's, but found myself spending the whole day researching the new models upcoming and deals on the current.

From what I'm reading, it will be at least a year until the new M3 coupe arrives and I don't want a Corvette or the new Caddy or anything else except a 911 which is more than I care to spend. I recall having a terrible money factor when I leased mine so I knew I got banged...They took 3k off the sticker, but loaded I was still at 1046/month. I called my dealer and she sent me pricing with all the details (Feb 28th). It honestly seemed like fair pricing after I took the time to go through it and loaded up again, but this time adding the competition package, my payment was around 150/month less. Roughly 4k came off the sticker. This dealer is far from me, but they gave me what seems to be honest pricing and remembered me well. I called one other and the price was insanely high.
I was told the production ends this June so my order should go in asap. It appears to be honest advice.

Anyway, long story short, my sales person is away, but I will await for this person to come back. Also I checked incentives for March and BMW is throwing 1000 cash cap cost reduction now so this should lower my payment another 27 bucks roughly. I'm nearly 200 less than current but with more equipment. I'm super excited to order this car.

My question is, do you think I'm making the right choice, not waiting? Look I love the car...I'm not bored of it at all. I drive black with red interior for my past couple cars. I love it in white, blue, space grey, but I'm just such a black car guy....Any suggestions.....

Latest rumors are that the new M3 *sedan* will be here in 1.5 years.

Coupe is longer ways off. Figure 2 years from when the first spypics start showing up. (advice from SCOTT26)

Also production doesn't end this June, but will continue until calendar year 2013. Model year 2013 production begins July 2012.

Response #5 quotes Matt Russell, M Head of North America. And response #6 is from SCOTT26, BMW insider.

And black is awesome. Get what your gut tells ya.

Thanks guys...BTW, I'm new on this forum and it's great. A few dealers did tell me June is the end of production not that it matters at this point. One dealer told me to hurry because few slots left, but the woman I deal with said there's 40 builds left in our area alone..she's probably not fibbing...again not that it matters.

Color is totally personal, but what do you guys think of another black with red interior? I'm going for 6spd manual premium package, upgraded sound, competition package, cold weather and maybe BMW apps.

Sounds like you are partially 'bored'. I almost leased another E92 M3 and realized that after owning (2) E46 M3 Coupes and (1) E92 M3 Coupe, I needed a change so I leased a 2012 GT-R Black Edition. In your case, I really don't see the point in leasing another E92, especially with the same color combination, just to have a new M3. Why not just wait another 18-24 months for the F30 M3 Coupe? Alternatively, if you really want another car then buyout your M3 and lease something entirely different.

You're right, color combo is a personal preference. If you need a replacement now... as the others here have already said, order new or buy out current.

I was gearing up to do Euro delivery for this car, but my father's health is deteriorating fast and I can't make the travel commitment unfortunately.

My buy back seems decent. It's around 35k, but I do have 40,000 miles currently so not sure it' worth it though the car is in excellent shape aside from one rim having curb rash

I figured it's probably better to get a good lease rate on a 2012 rather than purchase my 09. Sometimes I wish I did not love cars...I could save the $$, but then again you need that balance between living life and hoarding. I know too many cheap people out there. Seems boring.

I sent Ray an email, but I reckon being I'm on the east coast, he'd really be better suited for me if I was doing Euro Delivery. I'm not driving the car cross the country for a savings, but if there's something he can do, then GREAT! Besides, hopefully it won't be long until I live in Florida, California or Mexico...Had enough of NJ...It's too rough on my car :-)

Financially it makes sense to buy the '09 and drive it for 2 more years until the next coupe comes. At which time you sell the 09 and get ur 35K back.

My advice is to keep what you have and put a deposit on the F30 M3 when it becomes available.
