Dumb iPhone question
Im trying to hook up my 4S up using the basic Apple cable and it isn't supported apparently.
What cable do I need that will work with my BMW? |

CCA should have been typed BMWCCA, which is BMW Car club of America.

Yes I realize this is only the first os many times I will be raped by my BMW dealer.
I didn't really want a cradle specifically for the iPhone 4 because I suspect the iPhone 5 (or whatever it will be called) will likely have a different footprint rendering the cradle useless. A cable, while a less than perfect solution, allows me to plug in any iphone. How do I join the BMWCCA? |

I just use the basic cable that came with my 4S...what year is your 135?? Depending on the year car and what firmware your head unit has it could be supported.

I got a message saying the cable wasn't supported. I have a couple of iphones, ipods and an ipad and tried all those cables and got the same message with all of them. The BMW cable was expensive but works great. Sound quality is actually noticably better than what comes out the the radio itself. |

My friend and I both have 2012 135's without HK. His car supports the apple cable, mine doesn't. It's very strange.. we tried every combination of phone/cable and this was our conclusion.
Good thing the dealer threw in that BMW cable for free |

Neither of us has comfort access, but he has BMW assist. That's the only difference option-wise.
He thinks it may be the "enhanced USB" that came with the bluetooth. My car has bluetooth, but was an October build so it was standard. |

Perhaps it's free in Canada and you won't get one here in States.

Mine was delivered Wed and does not have comfort access but does have bluetooth and the normal Apple cable obviously didn't work.
