Nürburgring… In Nevada

Check this link out. Some dude has plans to build Nürburgring in Nevada. I vote YES!

Whats not to like? Especially for those of us close enough to wander on down for a few laps.

First, the Nürburgring.

Second, the Autobahn. That would be a dream...

wow, that's going to be one expensive project.

Miller Motorsport Park isn't exactly cheap to drive on, and they're also out there in the area.

I have a feeling that if it ever were to happen, it would not be easy for the average Joe to get access.

this would be huge but (no offense) i don't think the general driver skill level in america can compare to the europeans although the average guy think he/she is the best driver out there (flamesuit on). Combine that with the sue happy nature here in the states, I honestly don't know how long they can keep the track open for the general public. Probalby going to be a lot of liability forms to sign before you can do a lap in the ring. Or it will be a more forgiving track than the real ring with a lot of runoffs. DSC off anyone?

True that! I was stationed in England and spent 6 weeks in Germany, drove all over Europe and lapt the Nurburgring on 3 different weekends. Did plenty of Track Days in England at Snetterton and Brands Hatch. And although there are accidents on the Nurburgring, most of the Europeans on and off the track are damn good drivers. Here in the States, I can imagine the crashes on this Nevada-Ring. Would probebly be pretty comical.

I think if they set this up like in Europe where you can take "driving Lessons" on the track, if there were gonna be personnel to flag you, ambulance, etc. set up like at many track days in Europe and even at the Ring there is a briefing by TV stating the rules, then it would optimal. Eithewise it'll be a flop.

I'd love to see it actually happen though.
