Looks like maybe the tint was applied to the top and bottom and not the middle.

Have to say that I'm more interested in the Frozen Black paint job than the tail lights...
Looks awesome... Would love to see other shots of this car... |

By chance i had a reply of the owner, he says it's just tint ( like lamin x ... ) with a demarcation for the red light ( 3 stripes ) , he doesn't precise if the tint was sold like that or if the stripes have been made before the laying.
The car looks great cause of the complete black mat 3M covering ( 2400 euros in France ) which match perfectly with the tail light picture of the car before covering with already smoked striped tail light : with black mat covering ( 3M ) In any case the striping with the tint looks really beautiful. |

Did this to my taillights but didn't use laminix. had a reputable body shop spray a mix of clear+ black candy, to achieve this look...... looks just like this.....very nice and very pleased. looking into getting the LCI Blacklines..... would be willing to part with mine if your interested and don't want to paint yours.( if you plan on trading it in later or for whatever reason want to have the oem parts still intact and ready to swap)

I dont really like the LCI think they make the back of the car look narrower
To create the stipes is it best to buy a Lamin-x film like this http://www.lamin-x.com/BMW-1-Series-...ers-p/b223.htm And them cut out the stripes over the LEDs, Or to use a spray and masking/duck tape to cover the stripes |

Gonna resurrect the thread. I want to do this to my tails this weekend. What has everyone found as the best way to do this? Film? What % reduction? How wide do the strips need to be?
