BMW CC of BC Car Control Clinic
What a blast! I picked up my Z4MC a few months back from "Endless Z4" and I've driven it sparingly. Today the BMW CC of BC held a Car Control Clinic, and the M Coupe performed spectacularly.
While the day started off quite rainy, the clouds parted and by the afternoon we were getting some nice sunshine. The clinic was held at Pitt Meadows Airport, a small regional airport east of Vancouver. As the day came towards the end they introduced all 24 participants to auto X. The winner of the competition was rated based on speed, lack of cone hits and consistency between two timed runs. I'm very happy to say I won the competition with 0 cones hit and two identically timed runs, with DSC off and sport mode on . My instructor had sat in the car a few times with me and tried to get me to be a little less aggressive with the course, but he certainly had a smile on his face as I took him around in an earlier session. Here's a few pics of some of the cars at the event. I'll definitely be going back for more auto X. |

Thanks.I'd love to but I have a work event. Even when the organizers were talking about the next Road Skills course at Mission Raceway, I won't be able to make that either. It looks like the Harrison fun run and the June 10 Dancing with Cones will be my next events.

Looks like you had a lot of fun. I miss that car....Hows it holding up? Why did you take the legal front side window tint off? Looked cleaner with it IMO. Here is my current car.... Towing it back east with my X5 next week...

Looks like you had a great day for the event. Congrats on the win!
I think all Z4M owners can be proud that you showed a couple of 1M's who's boss! |

How's it going??
I agree about the tint, however it isn't legal here in BC. I couldn't get it licensed without it being removed. I'll probably put it back at some point. It has been a blast since the weather has been co-operating. Took it up past Whistler last Sunday with about 20 other BMWs along with 22022. That was a lot of fun. Your car's looking good. I've followed a number of your posts. How far east are you heading? |

go to the bmw car club of BC website and you'll see all the events. Lots of nice people.
Many driver training events, but if you're looking for a drive, the next one is an overnight in Kamloops going to Duffey lake. Aug 11-12 |
