Icarbon really dead?

As we all knew Icarbon went out of business. I was getting the Kerscher splitter for my ride and guess what?
http://www.echelonautosports.com/cat...665/index.html
The forks over there told me yes Icarbon still available
I am not sure about that but let see...this is what I got a pm from brian @ echeloautosports
"Yeah its still available...I would have to get in contact with them directly to see what there lead times are on whatever parts you would be interested in. What is it you would be interested in?? "
So what's your thought? Are they replica the Icarbon and using the brand? Hopefully I get the legit Kerscher lips instead of some replica from china haha

You guys are right, iCarbon (Miami) went out of business in mid 2011.

A guy named Michael in Germany uses iCarbon (Miami) tooling to continue the production of their parts, as he started distributing for them in 2010.

He says he has nothing to do with iCarbon Miami since they started acting unprofessional and went bust so now he works on his own. He said produces and develops everything by myself. He uses their mouldings for the diffusers and made his own mould for the trunkspoiler in Germany.

I was a bit skeptical but I ended up biting the bullet and ordering an iCarbon Quad Diffuser.

I should also point out that I know of someone else that ordered one and it arrived damaged, however we believe it was an issue with the courier. Mine had a minor imperfection and I think it was the result of the courier. It's not noticeable in photos though.

Here are his details
iCARBON-Parts
Geschäftsführung
Michael Feld
www.icarbon-parts.de

I've attached a photo of my car. If you buy from him tell him I recommended you and he might give you further discount. I'm not associated with him in any way, just stating my experience and letting people know that you can still get iCarbon parts.

I drive a BMW and didn't want to put cheap fake carbon parts on my car where the clear-coat would fade or it would turn yellow over time.

Just ask him if he has it in stock first, his communication seems pretty good.

I bought my iCarbon diffuser from him too and service was great and he sent me photos of how my diffuser was packaged including tracking numbers and everything the day after. The diffuser came undamaged.

Vinney - Michael was only an iCarbon distributor for DE. He got burned by them (Miami) and he has since started his own CF manufacturing for BMW's - made in Germany.

It's good to know, back then I was talking to a member forum and he bought one from this one and it got damaged during shipment (i thought he bought left over haha) Wonder why so many damaged during shipping and they still not figure out to cure the problem.

Someone should just test this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E82-1-Se...90e698&vxp=mtr

Half the price of the iCarbon.

^ I'm thinking about either testing that one cooler2442 or this one : http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E82-1-Se...b546f8&vxp=mtr, i just don't feel like re-routing the entire exhaust just to get the m3 look.

Yeah the one I linked would be much easier to get a custom exhaust made for.

True, but someone mentioned that the eBay seller selling that quad diffuser you linked does poor wrapping thus damaging the item during shipping. That's what I'm worried about.

I would just state in the paypal/ebay comment to make sure they properly and securely wrap it. If they don't then just open a dispute on paypal. Right now with the new ebay/paypal rules, the buyer wins 99% of disputes.

I remember a few forum members swore by iCarbon, oh time has changed.

Even though I own an iCarbon hood and have issues I would still stay away from them.

Hey David, I'm just passing on exactly what Michael told me in the emails. I said I would write a review but never got around to it because I wanted to sort out the minor damage I had first but still haven't filed a complaint, and it's probably too late now. Michael told me it can take months and months to get compensation from the courier, if I am to even get any.

Thats bites Vinney. When ever I mail/send something "important" in the mail (Germa or US Mail)... I always put the item in a box inside of another box and add lots of "peanuts". This almost garranties the item arriving in A-Ok condition.

I ordered mine from michael in Germany and it came damaged. It was a huge deal about returning it so I had him pay for it to be repaired and painted jet black. Now it matches the color of my car, yet I left the fin portion CF. it looks amazing with my quad eisenmann race
